  1. Disseminate the goal area plan and timeline for curriculum &  instruction to all stakeholders

  • At enrollment the Goals & Objectives for the five year strategic plan were handed out with a link to the district website for more information.  Mr. Argo wrote a “letter” to the community for publication in the Alva Review Courier that discussed the five year strategic plan.  All staff were given a strategic plan book, to be reviewed as necessary with administration.  The dissemination of the five year strategic plan continues through community forums, the Superintendent’s Radio Show, and monthly Alva Board of Education Meetings.  Click the links below for more information.

  1. Professional development has been provided for common language on content area literacy (MAX Teaching with Todd Luke) for high school and middle school teachers in August.  The District plans on bringing Todd Luke from Max teaching back to provide more training.  MAX Teaching is also a training that covers the engagement common language.  Administrators will present K20 strategies regularly during the school year.  Engagement presentations by principals, alternate between engagement and content area.  Paraprofessionals were also instructed on engagement by Mrs. Lovelace during professional development.

  1. Provide professional development on the common knowledge and language of active student engagement.
