Key Club - "Caring - Our Way of Life"

Sponsor: Mr. Gregory

Alva High School Key Club meets every first and third Thursday of the month.

What is Key Club?
If you are a high school student and want to help others, serve your school, and make your community a better place in which to live, then Key Club is your kind of organization.

Key Clubs are for young men and women who want to assure positive futures for themselves and others. Key Clubbers work together in a team effort to fulfill the needs of their schools and communities through volunteer service. More importantly, Key Clubbers know the satisfaction of accomplishment. They know the service they perform will have a lasting effect on those they help, their world and themselves.

What can Key Club do? The possibilities are endless - just look around you. What are the needs of your school? What are its problems? Is the need for drug awareness being met? Is vandalism a problem? Are teachers taken for granted? Are tutors or peer counselors in short supply? Do classrooms need redecorating or minor repair? Is school spirit on the decline? What are the needs of your community? What about the needy? Does your community center, abuse center, or facility for the handicapped need volunteer help on the weekends? What about the needs of your community's forgotten elderly?

Key Clubs are sponsored by Kiwanis Clubs. Kiwanis is a worldwide service organization whose members have the desire to become personally involved in making their communities better places in which to live. The Kiwanians in your community recognize that young people today want to take an active part in solving problems and meeting the needs of their world - whether that world is as small as a classroom or as large as an entire community.
